Honestly, I only read this novel because I wanted to dutifully read all three of the author's novels but this is by far my least favorite. For one, Shen Qingqui and Luo Binghe's relationship didn't seem convincing to me at all. It just felt like the master was just giving in to his disciple's whims so he wouldn't be "blackened" or whatever. Everything was always done out of pity, not real love. I was better off not reading it cos I wouldn't have missed anything.

The one that irritated me the most was Shang Qinghua and Mobei Jun's relationship. Why does Mobei Jun get to have a happy ending? He did worse things that even Zhuzhi-Lang and Tianlang-Jun ever did but even they had tragic endings and ge got a happy ending? Why???

Their relationship to me was uncalled for. I couldn't even finish reading the extras because of them. Mobei-Jun and Shang Qinghua were single-handedly responsible for the deaths of all those young disciples during that Immortal Conference and yet they got to catch a break. No revenge against them or anything.

The people who deserved to catch a break were the uncle and his nephew because they were the ones who were truly wronged from the start. Innocent people who just wanted to live their carefree lives but they were attacked and made to suffer but the people who actually deserved all of the attacks from the cultivators got to catch a break? Why? I was upset that Zhuzhi-Lang killed Gongyi-Xiao and in some ways, he deserved for die for that but going by that logic, so did Mobei-Jun. Honestly, reading about Tianlang-Jun and Zhuzhi-Lang's backstory made me cry so much. I felt very bitter.

Honestly, I am surprised a novel like this came from the author because it was way too mid. I can't compare it to Mo Dao Zu Shi and Heaven Official's Blessings even in my dreams. Never!

P.S.: If you disagree with my comment, feel free to knock yourself out but don't expect me to change my mind because I have no intention of doing that.

This was one of the first works of the author so of course it isn't as good as the other ones, I've never read this one but I'm reading tgcf novel and I've read the manhua of mdzs and tgcf

Honestly, it all makes sense to me now cos I was about to ask if they wrote this before or after the other two. It was a total mess and completely different from what I was used to. Both the main and side couples were not it all. It started out very nice but along the line, it became like child’s play and I literally had to force myself to read it until the end. Then came the side chapters and I could not deal with it so I just dropped everything. You can read it if you want to but you would not be missing out on anything if you don’t (my opinion)

tbf moxiang first wrote it back when she’s still in high school and she only wrote svsss as a parody for stallion novels because her poor younger self was so fed up with this genre. Her fans were even trying to figure out which stallion novel pissed her off so bad

Exactly! When I started reading it, It actually resonated with me because I figured it was a parody and the issues she was making mockery of are the exact same issues I have with a lot of these cultivation donghuas. But along the line, she basically did what she was complaining about. I have refrained from reading a lot of these donghuas because of how poorly thought out the romance always is and then they make it about multiple women with no sense.

She was on the right path for a while but her novel sort of lost the plot in the middle. I can’t even call what Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqui have “love”. The supposed-villains’ backstories even appealed more to me than our protagonist. Not to even mention the second couple. I remember reading about the Immortal Conference and feeling sad about all those promising children being killed because of Mobei-Jun and Shang Qinghua, only for them to have a happy ending and then the author decides to give us extras about their “supposed love story”? It’s funny because their love was even more well-thought out than that of the main couple.

Telling me she wrote that in high school kind of makes a whole of sense now because it doesn’t hold a candle to her other works.
The comments on novel updates suddenly make so much sense to me now as well.

thats really fair and valid. Personally, I like svsss simply for the humor and fun and I find the plot quite unserious (though the back story of the OG sqq is sad and frustrating for me) I agree with the sqh x mbj thing, I dont really like them as a couple and I skipped reading their side story

I honestly felt sorry for the original Shen Qingqui when I learnt his backstory but that doesn't excuse what he did to Luo Binghe. It seems he got his punishment from the Luo Binghe for another dimension. The one that ripped off the transmigrated Shen Qingqui's arm off as a punishment from the system.
