You need to understand that mc doesn't accept his situations at all, except for ml bcs he gives comfort to him. For mc the only thing he wants is to go back, he never saw all of those people as real person + we see by now that his 'brother' actions actually different from the novel's plot when all he wants is to go back. He wants to immediately go back to his real life but by having some disturbance of the original plot he thinks he will never go back to his world
