From what I remember, MC finds out he is gay but he doesn’t want other people to think less of him so he uses that engagement ring and pretends he is still engaged to his ex fiancé. ML and MC have known each other from way back but I think something happened and they stopped talking (I don’t remember why ) a misunderstanding happens and ML thinks MC is a whore that cheats on his wife with other men to get what he wants but it’s so in love with him he doesn’t care and isn’t beyond being a homewrecker which makes him feel bitter bc it reminds him of his mother. MC need to get ML on his side for a job project but I can’t for the life of me remember how they started being fucked buddies so someone please fill in the gaps cause it’s been months and that’s all I remember
basically, MC (joohwan) is gay but he's never actually been with anyone nor does he WANT to be gay, which is why he dates girls (but he gets dumped in the first episode and is like "dammit i guess I really am gay") and uses a fake ring with a fake fiancé to get rid of any girls going after him.
He works at this advertising company and gets assigned to a resort and when he meets the boss/manager of the resort, he realizes that it's the same guy who helped cause/develop how he feels towards men (specifically ML (sihyun)) from when they were in the same army cohort. Because he realized he was attracted to ML, MC basically treated him pretty roughly in the military which brewed some bad feelings between them, but then he felt bad for ML and invited him to hang out and then they got drunk and got into a fight and MC started choking ML and he discovered he was into that and came in his pants (which is how he discovered his sub/masochistic tendencies).
ML recognizes him and is already interested in MC, but sees the ring and assumes that MC is a cheating scumbag and is jealous over MC's nonexistent wife/partner.
The whole misunderstanding is that ML thinks MC is a whore who sleeps around and has a ton of experience and is cheating on his partner and MC thinks that ML has a lot of experience being a submissive top when in reality they're both stupid virgins
They start being fuck buddies because joohwan's friend (the celebrity) comes to the resort and sihyun gets jealous because he thinks THEY'RE fucking and so when the celebrity friend calls joohwan to his room, sihyun gets drunk and immediately
immediately calls sihyun over to his room as an emergency and then they fuck and they're both into it and so sihyun kind of coerces joohwan to continue but they are both into it bc they're freak4freak
