It’s a transmigration story where the mc was thrown into a novel and became the ml’s consort (the ml was a prince iirc). The body he possessed, i think, was a dumb(?) consort or maybe sickly, therefore he had to act the part. I think he transmigrated because there is some kinda system that sort of controls the afterlife and he wishes to just die peacefully or maybe go back to his own world (srry I can’t rmmbr the details). His character in the novel eventually dies and his role was to live as that consort and die when it’s time to die. When he dies, he thought that his job is done and he can get out of the system, but the system sent him again to the novel world (now as a puppet emperor who looked like his previous character, the now dead consort). Both of his characters are known as dumb so he has to pretend. Unfortunately, the ml hates his new character for some reason. Also, the ml can’t move on from his prev character—the consort. That’s why, when he tries to get the novel’s mc closer to the ml, the ml isn’t interested.
I was marinating the story but I forgot to add it to my list and now I can’t remember the name.
