i think its because a lot of 'bromances' are written better than most yaois nowadays. sometimes there's a lot more chemistry between two men who are just 'friends' as compared to men who are dating each other (in bls). like I read a lot of action manhwas where characters sometimes have this insane connection that u barely see in yaoi manhwas, authors just rely on fwop thrust squelch and call it a day without delving into their actual connection.

Honestly yeah, when it's implied it doesn't focus on the romance, instead it's the actual plot, it's just in the back of your mind.
But when it's explicitly stated it ends up becoming a plot point and diverts from the main storyline.(not a bad thing, it's nice to see queer stories)
I think both is good but I prefer the former.

Hmmm I kinda get what you mean? A lot of the times, bls just aren’t written that well. It’s just smut upon smut upon smut and you rarely find bls where u just FEEL the romance developing. That’s why I really like slowburn bls. Either it’s focusing more on world-building and plot while keeping the romance in the back burner, or it’s a gradual development of romance.
is it weird to not be that hookedt to bl manhwa/manga that is gay-implied, but then be too obsessedt to the ones that is lowley gay but it might be just cannon to the readers, do u get me!?!?? the tension for not so implied one is *chef's kiss*
