nanjo is the only one who doesn’t/didn’t have any malicious intent going in to all this. when it comes to motives he is literally the only one who is innocent. being dumb isn’t the same as actively trying to screw over other people for your own amusement - i think it’s fine to dislike nanjo and stuff but acting like he’s just as bad as everyone else is massive cope (unless it turns out he was 3d chessing this entire thing, but we don’t have evidence of that so far)

he's definitely the only good one here but he's got connections and if he wanted to do something/help the twink he could've. People like him aren't easily manipulated. So it's either he has a motive too or the author just didn't think that the man in his position wouldn't be in a situation like that in the first place.

This! I’m not saying he’s as bad as the two, but he’s definitely not innocent. People paint him as naive or stupid enough to be easily manipulated but, I think he’s smart enough to know what he’s doing and that he can uno reverse everything or whatever. I may be stereotyping him under the “CEO/boss” archetype but I just refuse that his character is just this dumb pushover. Unless the author intends for his character to be just that.

I don’t dislike him btw, I just don’t understand why some people feel sorry for him. He knows exactly what he’s doing and I think I just have this high expectation from a character just like him to not be stupid.
As far as intent goes, malicious or not, if we compare it to crime (lol) it’s like saying murder vs homicide - huge difference but still guilty altogether.

what you guys are doing now is pushing your preconceived notions of who the character is rather than seeing what he’s actually done in the manhwa. again, i said that im NOT assuming he’s 3d chessing it and is actually aware of everything thats going on, as there’s nothing in the manhwa or even the novel tags (the korean tags at least) that *concretely* says he is. that’s your own interpretation, not everyone else’s. being like ‘oh he’s a ceo he shouldn’t be this dumb that’s not realistic’ also doesn’t make sense because this manhwa would be 1 chapter long if we were going off of realism. you can’t selectively choose what should be realistic and what is okay to be dramatized.
and you asked why people are more sympathetic to nanjo despite them ‘committing the same crime’. well in your own example, if someone kills someone because they were trying to save themselves from being raped versus killing someone because they’re a maniac and love to kill, who do you think the general public are going to be more sympathetic to? apply that same logic here and you’ll see why more people like nanjo
I get why people hate mokyeon and sunhwa. What I don’t get is why some put Nanjo in a pedestal. He’s not innocent either. He either is blinded or foolishly pretends that sunhwa is all innocent and fragile so he “sacrifices” himself for his sake. He sees sunhwa as some victim where in fact he physically sees SH get all excited during their parties. All 3 of them have their own shtty ways. Maybe I’m just biased towards mokyeon, but i love nanjo as well.
