I thought it was pretty obvious, from the start of the story he was dead. The MC didn’t wanna talk about him. They kept dropping hints and with the way the family was treating the guy, I just assumed yeah he went for it and that panel of him hanging proves he did.
I thought his friend was his brother the entire time
