so the last chapter oh my god!! I definitely think this is a religious based story, Todd really being the devil himself, a calculated and tempting person, pushing Dennis who can be influenced at just the slightest bit of affection, someone who’s naive and desperate to trust, I think the line Todd said about the sheep going extinct without humans sticks out a lot here, when Todd disappeared Dennis was a reck. Also I think the farm owner already knew about Todd or at least that there is someone or something out there luring men into temptation, I think the sheep represent almost innocence here just like how they represent that in the Bible, Todd taking the sheep is showing him taking Dennis’s innocence just like when he made Dennis shoot one of the sheep. Dennis after falling into the temptation after being tricked by Todd with love realizes he’s left with absolutely nothing no sheep no love no purpose nothing so he takes his own life on the mountains. I feel like this story is definitely something that I would’ve loved to be a full length story, but honestly it being only 9 chapters definitely does its job, it’s a story that has been told so many times (falling into temptation under the premise of love). Todd is literally the wolf in the beginning who ate the sheep, just like he ended up “eating” Dennis by having him take his life!!!! So so cool!!! Loved the story. Could totally be over analyzing but I think the story was just interesting:)
