agreed!!! the author does NOT need to go into disgusting detail about all the shit miyabi's family did to him to show the effect it had on his psyche. i can feel his self-loathing and struggle to live as I read the manga.
being a woman as well, i could relate to him in a sense. he believed his value with Haruto was the fact that he is an omega, something that people want to "own" or "possess" for sexual pleasure. He has no family he can bare his heart to. No one else he knows BUT Haruto. He's probably the only person who's shown Miyabi real kindness, who sees him for who he is!
And that makes him question his worth. He is nothing, he tells himself. Haruto is kind and has a loving family. Something Miyabi believes he doesn't fit in. Doesn't deserve, because he has nothing "worthy" to give in return. It's heartbreaking. I can 100% understand how that feels. Haruto cares about Miyabi for more than his body, but he can't help but think that's what will make Haruto satisfied.
I'm happy Miyabi was able to get his happy ending... And seeing him develop as a person was really nice.
I don't approve ofc. I'm just I think the author really did a great job imo.
I love that the author doesn't circle around and dedicate too many chapters and pages to the trashy family. Yeft despite their poor screentime we still can see what kind of people they are. It's very showing than saying kind of story telling.
SPOILERS of the last volume btw.
MIYABI, is rightfully angry of his family yet he never really "hated" them to the point of attacking them, instead he hates himself for being a disappointment to them because he grew up in such a closed minded house with abnormal parents.instead he also project all his anger towards society and the a/b/o system because he is a good boy that don't disagree with his parents.
It seems like in middle school he started being homeschooled too since given his condition it's pretty certain the parents didn't want the social service at their door and ruining their ideal family image. Yet he's also very kind. Despite he was deeply jealous of his brother he still was very caring and tried to cheer and be there for his brother. I love that his trauma ain't disappearing like magic after a few years too. This sweet child has been living in his brother's closet for prob 15 years of his life...
I feel like prior Haruto, Miyabi was very much still under his parents spells and believing he is nothing compared to them. Plus under all the abuse, he prob suffers still from ptsd. The same victims despite knowing their not in the wrong will still flinch unintentionally when facing their tormentors.
Yet Miyabi despite all the abuse still want to prove people wrong and prove himself. Might because he wants to rebel from the outdated mentally of of bigots or because he still hopes to regain his father trust and be on that family he saw from inside a dark closet.
Miyabi being terrified of meeting them again is completely reasonable. Him asking Haruto to give the money he saved up to repay his family and not feel obligated to feel grateful be usare they provided for his is anoghdf important slice to get swaggy and move of from his fam.
YAMATO. The brother. Despite being an alpha and loved by his family, his life was far from perfect. He is constantly pressured to be n. 1. The parents may love him but only if he get a proper results. He cares for Miyabi in his own way.
Unlike their parents, Miyabi showers him with compliments after studying hard whereas the parents go "as expected on a alpha" and will show him love only when he his number one. Overall I think their family is really cold in that regards. In a way he found comfort in Miyabi being there for him and well he cares enough to make promises that he will help Miyabi.
Things escalate however when his score dropped and he got in the top 10 instead of number one. The dad telling him "an Alpha that can't be first is EVEN WORST than an worthless omega." Note that Yamato grew up seeing how his brother an omega is treated and being told that strike his ego in a bad way. Plus the pressure he receives from his parents and Miyabi welcoming him happily with a smile gave birth to jealousy.
Why does Miyabi gets the easy life and never work hard for anything since no one expect anything from him, while he , Yamato have to study like crazy in society with multiple alphas.? It is very unfair on his equally twisted by surrounding eyes. The sense of inferiority and jealously led him to SA, Miyabi. To rob the later if his smile. When MiyAbi left the family, Yamato grades drop even further. It could either be because he never have the same encouragement and support Miyabi have hm, his lost of trust for his parents or because he started seeing how the world is aka Grades aren't everything and his parents are weird.
When Miyabi left, and him falling behind, their father started pressuring him even more while he's also witnessing their parents fall out of love and argue. (mainly the dad calling the mom a failure because she failed to educate him. The house might have become more suffocating because of it and lonely without Miyabi. Aka the reason why he started skipping studying and hanging out with his friends.
For sure, Yamato grew to hate his parents too. Him deciding to study abroad away from his parents is very telling.
The DAD, is trash to the core. I'm sure he'll pass away alone and unloved. This is just as assumption of mine based on common sense and circumstances... The dad is like those frustrated parents that are pushing their own agenda and unfulfilled dreams on their children. The constant "you must be number one efc" it all screams that in his youth he either grew up a bigoted family that nieces in alpha superiority or want the kid to get the success he never achieve. Because let's be honest, the guy is an alpha and all but, he as his family are humbled. Their don't swim in success basically. So I wonder if his pushing all this expectations in hope Yamato became number mad be successful?
The MUM: is no different than a flower pot in the living room. She so submissive either she grew up believing believing the mantra of her husband or she's one of those weak willed women desperate for love but who cares of the kids what's matter most is myself. Or she's one those brainwashed women believe they are nothing without their husbands. Myain assumption is that's she's probably not mentally stable either because what mother would allow her husband to torture her song like that???? I tell you what only those those that don't see beyond themselves.
Love the genuine reality dose this manga gives. Because in fiction and unfortunately start eyes clueless people still believe in the fantasy concept "forgive your family even if they treat traumatize you".. Horrible parents NEEDS to be held accountable of their poor choices in parenting.
