While I don’t think what he did was right, I understand that, given the weight of his responsibilities and the limits of his capabilities, he tried to do what he thought was best. He knew his actions were cruel and wrong—he took no pleasure in them—but he wasn’t indifferent to his son’s suffering. He searched desperately for a way to help his son while also trying to protect his subordinates. His hands were tied—it was a lose-lose situation for any decent parent. If he had prioritized his son outright, he might have lost the influence needed to find a cure.
As you said, he never even tried to force his way back into his son’s life. He was content just to see them from afar—admittedly in a weird, stalker-ish way—knowing he didn’t deserve to be part of that happiness. He may have wanted to take Oli up on her offer, but I believe he at least deserves a chance to make amends.

Fr like i fear people dont understand that when someone is in power and especially in a position such as himself he has to choose, lose his position that gives him the ability to do research for his son or watch his son suffer as he does his damn best to make this as painless as possible.
His own sons pheromones were affecting him and making him sick, he had no choice even if he left with his son it would only be a matter of time before he was too ill or even dead to even give a semblance of help to his son.
Hes a flawed father and now a grandfather who is going to try his damnest to make up for his lost time, i hope he and his son have a wonderful relationship after they build up trust again

Ik he loved his son but FFS TELL HIM THAT like don't tell me he rather didnt ask people for insight on how to raise a kid cos his pride was too big. HE HAD HIS WIFE'S FRIEND TO ASK. Like pls. He was a father who didnt deserve to be a dad from the get go. His character is just so badly written. WHO doesn't sit down with their clearly stressed and scared kid to talk and explain what's happening to them? Like nah. I hate how butchered the character of the father is. #-.-)
And I usually defend broken parents who went through trauma and tried their best but this dude gave 0 EFFORT to communicate with his son. ZERO (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Honestly everyone being oh he doesn’t deserve to be forgiven blah blah but honestly, he was a grieving father does that make his actions correct no. But that doesn't mean what he did wasnt for the sake of nothing only his sons but the entire towers sake.
He may of not been able to show his love but he can still care, hes always loved his son the hours he spent researching how to help contain his pheromones to the point where he was bleeding from over exertion. He was the best father he could of been with the hand he was delt with.
Was he a perfect father no. But dis he truely love his son, yes. At the end of the day he just wants to see his son and his family happy, even if it meant he wasnt going to be in the picture. Im happy hes getting the chance to mend what was broken in their relationship, he loves his son and his granddaughter so much and you can tell so by him not actively trying to stop them from their happiness.
This is the hill i will be dying on thank you (▰˘◡˘▰)
