They literally do it because the ML is 'hot' it's so dumb and pathetic I'd like to see what they'd do if it happened to them..they'd still want to stay? Defend him... And the authors of these types of stories always make the MLs that are literal rapists to have a sad past just to draw sympathy as if having a sad past justifies turning into the most horrible people...in the end people will defend anyone if they're attractive which is weird...
