i think his ego is insanely huge for him to even think of killing himself, i’m guessing he suffered from an untimely death or something. i haven’t read the novel spoilers up to that point but from my guess, he might’ve caught some sort of std since he lead a very debauchery lifestyle and perhaps being envious of carcel’s perfect marriage with ines (since we know that he’s very much insecure about not measuring up to carcel) he took that chance as to make a wish to god and decided to remember the past timeline so he could manipulate certain events to go into his favor and so he would be the one to take ines hand in marriage and basically run carcel through the mud by ruining ines and rubbing it in his face… but this is just a theory u could probs get ur answer from novel updates if u don’t mind getting spoiled
not really relevant but im curious cause oscar surely cant be favoured by god and he still remembers his past life so did he kill himself in the first life when ines and carcel were together?? or did he use his wish to marry ines instead? seems like a waste of a wish tbh but i wouldn't put it past him, his inferiority complex is strong asf. itd be way more interesting and dramatic if he killed himself though...
