It's because he felt guilty. They were really close friends back then, so he thought he should've been there with Kihoon when he got into an accident instead of wallowing in his self-pity trying to get over Kihoon by not reaching out to him. So like, he's crying bcs he missed out on it and regretting not being present during Kihoon's recovery.
as much as i love this pairing i kind of don’t understand his reaction to hearing abt the accident i mean its a thing of the past…i think its rather extreme and not really worth crying over like that shouldn’t he be more relieved that kihoon is doing fine now? i mean even kihoon is glossing over it lightly, instead he starts crying and looks borderline traumatised ..? for what? you would think someone slimed his parents in front of him or smth. i don’t understand his reaction at all..love them tho
