First of all, that...WOMAN doesn't strike me as someone who'd abide by the rules, so the "deal" between the spes and director needs to be something substancial, if she can't use mind control on Shin.
What's really bugging me is Cheese's alter ego (aka grown up version), calling Shin "favorite toy" (in ch.12) so I'm...err... is there anyone apart from Rira taking Shin as a normal sentinent being?

in my understanding isabel is his step mother i think and his father is a human and isabel is his spes idk about his mother though maybe shes passed away
she asked him if he wanted to be murdered like his mom so it's kinda safe to assume she killed his mom which is why he hates spes so much
yeah that part where cheese called shin his favourite toy confused me bc I thought cheese actually liked shin, but I think I convinced myself that he said it just to piss off isabel and like 'claim' shin as his bc we know how jealous that boy is
