They’re in university, not high school, so it’s very possible they’re older than 21.
Where I am from you can get into university as young as 17 but the norm is 18/19 - the same as in South Korea btw. Both of them doesn’t come off as mature enough to be older than 21 and it really doesn’t seem that way.

It sounds like you were blessed to have financial support and lots of opportunities open to you. That was not the experience many people I went to university with had. At my school it was not unusual to have a 15 yo homeschooled genius and a 28 yo working adult taking the same evening class.
Please don’t put 21+ yo people on a pedestal; adults well into their 30s and 40s get into drama and stupid situations all the time. Love makes fools out of the best of us.
I don’t understand why you make this so much about real life? We’re talking about a fantasy story. And I literally just stated how it is where I am from and how it is in SK where the story is located. Stating facts, no personal feelings whatsoever.
