I mean... It doesn't mean someone is a "strong independent woman" that they can't be naive and a pushover... It's like saying someone smart can't do stupid things (they can. All the time.)
They both have their faults but the story doesn't focus on those faults, instead, it slowly tries to make things better but sometimes they fall back into those habits... Which is a pretty realistic approach if you ask me.
Besides, I'm pretty sure she never really did stop loving him? I just think that the manhwa itself is the problem cuz they're not that good in conveying or transitioning each event compared to the novel
Oh it would absolutely be a better story if she had months or heck, a few years working and solidifying herself into the field and hardening her personality because of it.
That she truly sees her self worth and how his cold treatment won’t stand, and THEN him starting these small one offs of, ‘look I defended you from her when I shouldn’t have to because you’re from my house.’ And her laughing because she’s been over it, and he has to try better than that.
Idk I just enjoy it more when they actually commit to her having a solid standing while the ML truly suffers more.

she still naive and a pushover
The author make her a police officer probably want to make her seems like a strong independent woman , but it doesn't help, what kind of strong independent woman get swayed by a man easily lol
He doesn't even try that hard to wins her
Why the author make the MC have job that doesn't match her personality anyway, just because strong independent woman are popular nowadays
