It’s been a long time since my heart has shattered over a character. The fact that Cho-ah didn’t get freedom or happiness in the end is soul crushing. The small detail in the last chapter of Cho-ah’s ring being sewn to his finger is just chilling. This is truly one of the better depictions of a true psychological horror I’ve read. It wasn’t just physically horrifying with mindless back-to-back grotesque gore and rape; the psychological torment almost trumps the bloodshed when it comes to what was more terrifying. I 100% despise the ending, but a happy ending wouldn’t really make sense for a story like this. It was truly well done, even though the mental whiplash it gave me was immense
It breaks my heart to see them like that. But I hope the author create another side story, wherein they finally meet again in the future and have a happy life. Just like the first side stories where Cho-ah as an office worker. ;(
