I can't believe people still have a hard time comprehending the fact that Ian IS Brian! They're the same person the same soul and when you fall in love with a soul doesn't matter what they look like or what experiences they have gone through it's STILL THE SAME PERSON
Maybe people don't really understand souls
But like it's the same as twin flames or soul mates being reborn multiple times and falling in love again and again if one of them remembers their past lives that doesn't mean they're only in love with the past version? It mean it's a soul a person and a consciousness a singular one and they love that person no matter what body they're inside!!! It's not disrespectful towards the newest version because it's the same goddamn person!
Like imagine if you suddenly wake up and remember you had a past life that you were so different in. Do you get identity crisis??or do you just regard that as a past life of yourself?? Because you know that's still you!!!!
Honestly I think people that are complaining just don't understand the meaning of a soul and they think a person is only the body and the few years that they remember but a soul is a higher being a consciousness not restrained by time or place and most definitely not restrained by a body and some memories. Ian is Brian! They're the same person not two different entities! Get over it!!!!

And I get it it's because Ian has yet to remember his time as Brian and that makes him anxious and this has translated to readers as Ian isn't being appreciated for who he is but it's the exact opposite
    Like imagine someone has amnesia
Should their spouse treat them as someone completely different? No that's stupid they definitely shouldn't pressure them but sol isn't pressuring Ian at all like he's behaving the right way but just because someone has amnesia that doesn't mean the person they were before doesn't suddenly exist or is a different person and shouldn't be loved the same? They've just forgotten a chunk of their memories.
Now Ian/Brian's soul is the patient with amnesia and sol is the spouse giving him space loving him nonetheless and letting him remember at his own pacing.

Please, say it louder for the people in the back!!!!! I couldn't say it better. I was trying to explain this for months, but English is not my first language, and I'm not very good at it (≧∀≦) ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

No because I do see your point they’re two different people (personality wise) in two different bodies but they’re both one soul. I also do get why the others have an issue with how they think Sol doesn’t love him as Ian but Brian, however I think the issue is because Sol did not voice it, to me it seems like he is stuck in the past instead of the present you know? But again you are also right, in my opinion i think Sol still loves him as both Brian and Ian but he still doesn’t know how to communicate that and he is afraid that he might lose him

I completely get you and after I just finished the second season I thought the same... that Ian and Brian had different personalities but I reread the story and it gave me a great shock because the author so masterfully created Ian from the same ink as Brian and when i saw how fundamentally similar they were i wasn't sad about not seeing Brian anymore. At their core they have the same personality also. The same kind caring and extremely strong person that's always willing to fight for what they believe to be right and they stand firm for their beliefs Brian just seemed more rebellious and free because he wasn't manipulated out of his mind growing up yet Ian is also breaking out of his manipulation fairly easily I'm so proud of him. I'm sure we'll find them even more similar when Ian gets to experience more of life.
Also you're so right the problem with sol is he just doesn't talk... like brother open that mouth you have it for a reason but maybe because I personally fell for Brian so hard in the second season I just had an easier time understanding sol and where he comes from and how he views Ian but I don't know I just got too invested and emotional XD

YESSS!!!!! and people have such a hard time comprehending that Brian and Ian were brought up two completely different ways. Brian was able to completely be himself without any repercussions in a society that praised what he did. while Ian grew up repressed and every key part of him being shunned by the society he was in. So although they may “act” or “react” differently it’s such an obvious response as to how they were brought up.

It’s because we’re humans and can’t comprehend the dragon’s way of feeling or looking into the person’s soul. I think it’s a little too far back now, but there was one comment who explained everything perfectly. Like how their mother, Ruadrach, made humans this way so her human friends would come back(via their soul) and so she wouldn’t be lonely.
