OMG THESE WERE MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. I saw that scene and was pissed off because wtf was he supposed to do besides punching him- he was aggressively holding him down and not listening to the word stop. Then it was painted as the boss “revealing his true self” which is so dumb because that’s not him being mean, that’s called defending yourself. “He totally hates me now” UH YEAH AND HE SHOULD. How did bro not get immediately fired. Not just for this scene, but also he didn’t let his boss properly reject him and then continued to tell him publicly that he was not gonna give up even though it was a clear no. If I met this man in real life I would throw up on his shoes and call it self defense.
People punching the shit out of aggressive people for literally trying to r*pe them is becoming my favorite trope in BLs. That’s a good message. What sets it back though, is when stupid npc characters guilt trip the assaulted for standing up for themselves or not wanting to pursue a further relationship/friendship with said person. He rightfully defended himself. The f*ck did he have to apologize for? And why did he have to initiate the makeup? Are you serious? Also, if you ever come across this scenario in real life, that “please let me resign!” that the other guy pulled at the table is another type of manipulation. Ducking away from an apology or responsibility by telling the other person you’ll just quit or leave is just guilt tripping the affected, making them feel as if they are in the wrong or as if they overreacted. It usually works, as you can see here. The victim hurries to move on from the situation because they don’t want to feel responsible for making their attacker quit/lose their job. Especially if they’re well-liked at the job. Went off on a tangent, but this just really bothered me for some reason. Maybe I’m outgrowing these type of stories, idk
