i wouldnt say ml is better hes kinda pathetic and he did SA ramdame as well the only difference was wolsey got to ramdame first but if it was tashi it would be a whole 180 story

To be honest the sa part is just inherent to bl unfortunately almost like it's part of the genre and not part of the characterization.
What I mean is that I believe awra to be actually interesting bcz from how I read it, we actually don't know if he would have been a truly better lover than Wolsey. Let's remember his personality and not take his word at face value. His ship captain who only want freedom, yes I have no doubt that he would brought ramdan a more free, peaceful and stress free life. But for how long? For how before he gets bored and get with another person from the next township? How long before he got back into the arm of one his many lover across the globe? We can't know for sure in my opinion like yes it could have been true love at the speed of his infatuation ,maybe he would have got bored just as fast? I thought his character was very nice to the story at least

Awra and ramdane would've been such a power couple and it would've elevated the plot so much more if they actually got together, but this is so common with authors, that when a "potential love interest" shows up and they're getting too likeable or too good compared to the ml, they have to add a part where they sexually assault or rape the mc so ppl go and do an "oh okay nevermind" and the only obvious choice becomes the male lead yet again
