The second paragraph might be somewhat of a spoiler so I’ve added this warning. After seeing this all over my feed I finally decided to give in and read this red flag of a story. I’m not gonna lie a huge portion of why i read this is because of how beautiful the art style was and because I found Skyler so fucking cute.
Out of every single story I’ve read on this app this is one of the few to have such a strong impact on me. This story is so well written through season 1 and 2 showing the hardships of the characters I can see why this was considered such a red flag. But in season 3 I think this is where the story changes so it’s not so toxic anymore. In truth it was I was told by some people that this is a horrible read and it’s all just toxic, but in my person opinion that’s not the case.
This story shows the struggle between 2 very similar yet different character who just chose to run away, had they confided in each other maybe they wouldn’t have had to deal with most of this in the first place. Seeing both Skylar and Cirrus grow through this story was a tortuous journey for sure.
I’m not every good at putting my thoughts into actual words, if you read this this is 100% a must read though some parts might leave you slightly Uncomfortable watching and reading their journey is worth it. This story had me go through an emotional roller coaster from anger, disgust, hope, tears, and tons of crash outs. But in the end it was all worth it especially after reading the authors final notes. I get and understand the story they were trying to tell and they told it so well that it resonated with me a few minutes after I finished this story. I sat and had to process the whole thing and I still have the tears I cried reading these 2 final chapters rolling down my face as I type this.
lol this sounds so cringe but leaving this note is also for me to look back on in the future and remember what I felt when I read this series. LITC has changed a part of me and a part of my perspective and I’d give anything to read this for the first time again. Skylar and Cirrus I’m glad these characters have been introduced to me.
This comment went on for too long so I’ll stop here to anyone who actually reads this hopefully I was able to explain myself well and I hope you enjoyed this story as much as I did!
