Yeah, no. Some victims of abuse can’t help but inherit some of that behavior, especially if that abuse came from a parent. It depends on the situation and the person.
Yeah I agree with that, but still I would have thought he would have seen a bit of his younger self in Dan and not have acted the way he did. And sorry, just because he was a victim doesn’t excuse behaving like that whether it makes sense or not.
You don't understand how abuse work do you? Most of the time victims didn't even realise how similar they act to their abuser. As far as we know getting into boxing solidified his believe that strong and rich people gets respect. No one was there to correct his behaviour. If you don't even know what is wrong with you how are you supposed to fix it. And for the last time IT'S NOT AN EXCUSE!! IT'S AN EXPLANATION!! It would be an excuse if dan gets all mushy and forgives him when he hasn't even apologised.
Dan does do that though and has been doing that throughout the whole of season 1 and 2, he constantly forgives him without apology
and yeah it may be an explanation but it is also kinda being used as an excuse, people will be less hard on him because ‘he acted like that because he was abused so that makes sense’ rather than ‘oh he’s just an asshole’.
Resulting in him probably having to do less to get people to forgive him other than doing some therapy.
And let’s be honest if all of this was happening in a real life situation the advise wouldn’t be, only go back to him if he apologises, it would be get tf away from that man because he’s abusive.
It’s weird because considering what he’s been through you’d think he would have learnt abuse is bad, and would have had more care towards Dan… but guess not hope he works hard on his personality like he worked hard on boxing
