His character is a bit realistic now that author gave us his background, Jaekyung is poor, uneducated, and no social skills since no one really taught him manners only boxing with money as motivation. He may have experienced kindness but considering how much exposure he had to violent things, no wonder he is how he is now. I really have high hopes for inner monologue Jaekyung like author could pull a 360° nice adult maturity on Jk and stop believing bs like Jinx S*x. Instead jk shoulda acknowledge his strength and find new motivation in life aside from his shyt mom and fame or money. Have a hunch he probably lost that motivation in the first place so now he is just clinging to Winning that Champion title or else he'd be nothing.
