I think he has this internalized hatred for himself where he is yk not accepting of his own past because he thinks it's "pathetic". So projects that onto Dan
Agreed ^^ also despite his judging, he was quick to help in his own way
If he was so poor, why he didn’t understand when Dan was malnourished? Why he was judging Dan so much when he needed money? And why he judged Dan’s house like a snob?
Sorry but this background story sounds lazy to me.
