Just cuz "they're gonna end up together anyway" doesn't mean there is any redemption arc simply bcuz rape has No redemption. They're gonna end uo together? Cool. But that's cuz some authors don't possess the ability create a story where everyone doesn't have to forgive the shitty abusive guy to end the story on a good note.
But hey, as much as I dislike that—I despise the audience choosing to ignore and forget it all and cheer on for the characters to end up together ss if the abuse is erased once he says "I'm sowwy."
I understand this is sad. Hell, even I'm sorry for baby Jaekyung but I ain't making no excuse for him. His childhood was a sad one. But so was Kim Dan's. Y'all already feel sorry for Joo Jaekyung but not Kim Dan? Why? Bcuz he wasn't hit? physically abused as a child? so that makes his life less sadder than Jaekyung's? Must his life be much shitter, his childhood more painful for you to feel like Joo Jaekyung actually does Not deserve forgiveness? Bcuz the rape, the dehumanizing, the constant emotional abuse, humiliating/degrading him infront of another man without his knowledge wasn't bad enough for you so you still seek redemption from Joo Jaekyung?
I know it's fiction. But the things some of you say are very concerning.
