The Delusion in this fandom is wild...

The way people are so eager to excuse Jaekyung's past behavior just because he had a shitty childhood is so bizarre to me. As if Kim Dan didn't also have a shitty childhood, yet he's been consistently kind throughout. If anything, this new ch. shows that despite his shitty dad, Jaekyung DID have good people around him that showed him kindness and pulled him out from the hell he was living in. And yet he still CHOSE to become a horrible person instead of learning the lesson that was quite blatantly being shoved in his face. After this, nobody can even use the excuse that he wasn't around good people as to know how to be good himself, lol. And yet everyone is just purposefully being obtuse or twisting the narrative to fit their delusions. I can excuse this being a badly-written, nonsensical guilty pleasure for people, but the way so many are actively bending backwards trying to pretend Jaekyung is suddenly cleared of all wrong-doing and a green flag, or even a yellow flag, is insane. It's okay to like fucked up media! It's okay to root for the villain. But let's not pretend a villain isn't a villain just because you find them hot. Delulu behavior.

I stay for Dan. He has been consistently kind. My dream is seen Jaekyung opening his mail and there is an invitation for the wedding of Dan with another person.

Sorry kinda have to disagree with the comparison between Dan and joo’s childhood both sucked yes but no way NEAR identical lol. Dan’s is said yea, but he was raised nurtured and loved from his grandmother and gave that back. Joo didnt, all that he was given was beatings, harsh reality checks and what we could assume tough love. We obviously don’t know much just because this is just the beginning of his whole childhood arc. Other than that, pretty much agree. It’s clear what that author is doing. Trying to make people pity and justifying his actions. I think there should also be clear distinction between justifying acts and understanding the character story. No one should go “aww so this is why he’s this way now, poor him” when it should be “ah so this is why he’s a pos, makes sense. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” you know? Like you can understand the character’s story without trying to force the narrative that his actions were justified
