Transformation. Idk if they were developed in the lab since the transformation seemed spontaneous and sudden and all farm workers don't seem to know each other prior to changing? Was it like a recessive gene or long term exposure to others with this type if predisposition?

Also, kinda weird that they retain memories of their past life but their memories about their names are wiped out. Does that mean Mr. A mind was tampered too? Or was the idea of naming farmhands after their tags born from Mr. A's name?

1- I think it was mentioned before that the scientist classified it as a virus or smt, i think they all started showing symptoms about the same time so it may be one!

2- I think they don't forget their names but remembering causes a traumatic response.
the have been so abused that remembering who they were before (and that they can't go back to live normal lives) is triggering, I suppose it makes them spiral or enter a depression

I see, I wonder if the scientist is being straight about it tho. He and the organizations he works for is pretty shady.

Ah, gotcha. I thought their memories got intentionally wiped out. Poor folks, they were treated so inhumanely.
