Ngl i argree, not because i specifically hate jk but because i feel like this trope is getting pretty exhausted. Im also in the middle of reading a another series and they follow the exact same plot. Ml is absolute garbage towards the mc but oh its ok he’s hot AND turns out he went through a lot! Its annoying that they set the stakes soo INCREDIBLY high and make the abuser (some of you WILL call me dramatic but idc) basically do nothing to redeem themselves. Obviously we’ve only barely gotten an insight into what his childhood was like, maybe the author will handle it better. But for now I’m unconvinced
