The author (like most) is trying to romanticize something thats completely horrific to go through, if they wanted to create an actual dark story then the writing needs to be a lot better. Obviously he didn't turn stupid simply just because he got his back blown but of the psychological damage ML caused; I said that to keep it short. He can't be fixed, that was a decision MC made out of delirium from him also realizing that ML will never let him leave alive. Don't glorify it as dark "romance" and call it for what it is, a psychological thriller disguising the rape/ non con fetish. This is in the same category as Killing Stalking, just more senselessly dramatic and worse writing.

This checks all the points in dark romance. “Don’t glorify it as dark romance” is simply idiotic to state because this story is almost the perfect description of it. I’m also not glorifying it but stating that people should know that this is for people with different taste, not everyone likes or agrees with it of course but that doesn’t make it not enjoyable for some. Also it’s different because it is fictional, everyone has a different perception of stuff that is only happening in a story rather than in real life. My main point is that it is dark romance, so be prepared and don’t be shocked that it isn’t your typical romance story. I don’t wanna hear anyone complaining about their relationship because Leewon knew what he was getting into when he got with a Mafia and he knew he wasn’t a normal person. He even seen Cesar pointing guns at kids and knew he killed people for his job. He was attracted to how Cesar acted and always forgave him no matter what he did, I would compare them almost to the joker and Harley Quinn (but obviously they didn’t and up well ). So to sum it up, this is the perfect story for people who like dark romance because it has aspects like manipulation, power dynamics and questionable consent. ( which are all literally part of the definition of dark romance)
I think its been shown lots of times that they wont leave each other, especially leewon even after all the non con amd violence cause they both "excite" each other and make both their lives "not boring" idk. They love dopamine
This is obviously a book about a non-traditional romance between two individuals. I don’t understand why people complain when they know Cesar is a mafia, meaning he isn’t going to be normal. He was raised differently and carried things out differently and Leewon noticed that. Leewon didn’t turn stupid, he just understood how Cesar is and decided he was going to help him improve. It’s okay not to like the storyline but this is a pretty good story for dark romance book lovers just hoped it ended later.
