I always find these types of stories funny because they are inspired in a time period where it would be very unlikely for the events to transpire like this. In most societies men cheated, be it when they were courting, engaged or already married and the women couldn't do much about it. This would be especially true for marriages of convenience. At most women could, maybe, break off the engagement and that's that. A divorce would be very unlikely since it was frowned upon by society. I know it's fiction and it's all for the plot, but I can't help but always think about this ╮(￣▽￣)╭. It's such an exaggeration to get fired from your job cause you cheated. It doesn't happen today, so it definitely wouldn't happen then.
