Author shouldn't have made it bl or yaoi, I think it will be more popular if it's non romance instead and author just let people speculate about the two men's real relationship coz the romance isn't actually there. I don't think mc likes ml romantically, he was just swept up at the moment, his duty, and his fond feelings for the young ml. While ml seems like just obssessed with mc coz mc imprinted him as he was the first person for ml's everything, and when older it turned to lust. It's just my opinion. If it was about strong bond and friendship instead, this could turn out to be great.
Altho it is good, the romance is just lacking so I thought author might as well have not made it obviously bl
