I also agree with everything you explained so well above in your original post. Fortunately, very soon Ines will come face to face with this very issue where she gets mad at Carcel for doing exactly what she’s ten times more guilty of and at last experiences a crisis of conscience. It’s time for her character development that the manhwa better not gloss over nor sweep under the rug.
The double standards people have towards Carcel compared to Ines is crazy lol. So Ines gets to use Carcel to dump him and never communicates her thoughts with him even when he confronts her because she doesn’t want him to know about her plan, but Carcel divorcing her makes him selfish and uncommunicative? That’s applies even more to Ines.
Her feelings for him have changed sure, but she never properly communicated that to him so you can’t blame him for not knowing that she cares about him way more than he thought. Also, if she can use him as a pawn to dump him why does Carcel not have the right to choose to follow through with Ines’ plan? Why are people acting like only Ines has the right to choose when Carcel is also a part of this relationship?
I don’t agree with Carcel’s decision here, but that’s only because, as a reader, I have more knowledge on ines’ feelings unlike Carcel. So I don’t blame Carcel for feeling the way he does.
