I think that’s what I’m getting at haha Greek retellings may be inaccurate but they’re based on the myths of Ancient Rome/Greece. The way these authors use the papacy is nowhere near real thing, the most accurate thing are the aestheticsit just baffles me because their religious systems resemble actual pagan cults of the ancient world so they might as well do that but they always focus on the Pope. It’s not a big deal it’s just fascinating how they completely butcher Catholicism haha.

That depends on the manhwa itself, I’ve seen many where they’re clearly inspired by the time period instead of the Catholic Church. Usually when the plot is inspired by European history I would agree that they’re just having fun. But I was thinking about the whole “priestess” female leads or in this case a “baby pope” in my OG comment it’s just fascinating as someone who grew up around Catholicism because it’s lowkey a lil slanderous but no real big deal
lol what is up with Korean authors being obsessed with the papacy and using it incorrectly I’m still going to read it since I’m not here for historical accuracy but sometimes they completely disregard any aspect of the real thing that they might as well make a new system. Still, I’m excited for the characters lol the art style is so cute
