I love her for choosing independence, she very much seems to enjoy it. I think even before the final straw she didn’t seem interested in her fiancé cause of who he was (neither really knew eachother until they started seeing one another more often going to school) more that she liked him out of obligation from what I can tell since she talks about the paths for the future woman in her kingdom have. Nothing really outside of marriage. Is she asexual? Could she ever love him? Will she ever find someone she likes that way? I don’t know, all I do is that her happiness doesn’t involve pursuing a relationship. I want to see where she goes. I’d love to see who she meets and what she does abroad.
As for him… I just find him hilarious. Teen boy got his serving of karma. Do I understand why he made these mistakes? Yes. However, he really needs to apologize. It only been about the misunderstandings but I feel like they need to have a long conversation on how his actions hurt her (we don’t see it now but we do know some stuff about how others treated her before she stopped caring about this situation). I hope he can one day communicate properly with her and express his feelings.
I wonder if she’ll be like the woman she read in those books. Rejecting all suitors, that would be nice. I’d like to read more stories like that.
