the most similar i've read has to be "Kumo desu ga, nani ka?" ! definitely has the same focus on survival and leveling and MC is also a monster. ( https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/kumo_desu_ga_nani_ka/)

I don't remember what it's called but there's a manga about a person who was reincarnated as a virus. They can infect people, animals and monsters. They can also gain the abilities of those that they infect and power up or debuff those infected.

There's also another where a guy is Reincarnated as a ghost monster.
