FRS, that part made me think because I can't tell either. Like I wanna know but at the same time I don't wanna know if in fact it was his mother. But, I can understand why it traumatized him bad and I can't blame him.
I've been rereading this for years and I'm now just realizing that, in jeans flashbacks, was that his mother or a teacher or tutor who attacked him (in any case, it was someone close to him and older) I saw that and was devastated to realize just how bad his trauma is
