I mean I would agree if the same shit wouldn't be added to wholesome stories half the time. I can't even just start reading manhwa anymore because I have to worry it's full of pointless rape, because it's everywhere. I always skim through the album first to look for anything of the sort before I start reading. Truly sad that if has come to this nowadays.
Most people liked this story before the author decided to mess it up, it's not like the story overall isn't for them. They have every right to be upset about being hit with something like this without any warning
I like the occasional dark romance as well, but only if it's well done. People are free to criticize something they are consuming
Like you said, Censorship is how oppression starts. The same goes for censoring people's opinions btw

Yeah, but people are just fed up with the overabundance of it.
There's a difference between some of them existing, making them easily avoidable, and almost every one of them being like this. If people are suddenly being overly exposed to something they dislike in a space where that wasn't such an issue before (not saying rape didn't exist in Manga before), they want it to stop, or at least lessen.
Take your most favorite hobby, and imagine it's suddenly completely gone down the drain and it just keeps going that way. Yes, you would want that to stop.
Personally, I'm not saying they should stop, they should, however, make a bit more effort to write their stories and characters well. What most people are upset about when it comes to rape scenes is how they are written, not that they exist. The sex scenes, especially the dialogue, feels so copy pasted nowadays that I'm surprised no one was sued for plagiarism yet, lol
At the end of the day a manhwa is a product. And as with all products in the world, the customer is king, and is free to criticize and demand things if they are unhappy with it, especially if we talk about the legal space. Don't forget that people in a normal scenario would pay money to read those.
Let people rant if they are upset, nothing is gonna change anyway, because apprearently it sells well enough to make it a whole trend, so authors will just keep going

I agree with u but where we disagree on is mangas being products. They are art first and foremost. Some creators can choose to listen to their audiance for feedback but art requires no help from an audiance.
Art is created by the artist to convey whatever they please.
To say we as consumers are king is arrogant.

It can be both. Of course it's always art first, but once the artist chooses to distribute it to an audience, especially for money, it's a product.
The artist is free to create whatever they want, but they shouldn't expect their audience to like it, if they completely ignored them while creating it.
But like I said, it seems to go well, at least from reactions I see on this site. Idk anything about what the sales look like. And stories can get away with a lot as long as it's written well overall and has readers invested enough to look past hiccups.
But in general, IF you want to sell something, it's in your best interest for your audience to like it, art or not. If you're only creating your art for yourself, then that's a different matter.
Everyones always mad about fiction but wholesome works exist aswell.
Censorship is how oppression starts. If u dont like something then it isnt for u. Dont stress urself more by reading it. Theres something for everybody
