They are gaining popularity and power from the mass that's why they want the power pf the north so they can used it to show their power and strength against the royal. I guess royal family can't do anysht because church is close to the commoners and nobilities, due to it's "charity, healing and now saint".
ughhhh why do we need angst and how come the church can interfere with the divorce already settled??? what is the royal family doing? just for decorations?
