Of course he is right to be angry being deceived and not wanting to sleep with a child. I will never be mad at him for this.

However, as our FL tells him: he does not think of the aftermath of his orders. He is a King and does not understand that his seemingly kind action of telling her to live her life means that she can be targeted by everyone as she is a child without protection in enemy territory.

He is not cruel, just blind to women condition (which makes absolute sense in the story setting).

Our FL is smart and has nothing more than her pride. I really like her

    Admittedly,it does seem like he plans to make good on the agreement on them be husband and wife by sleeping together when she is older so him staying completely away from her is good; it'll be weird watching your future wife grow up (what a sentence (⊙…⊙ ) )
    But the problem was that he left her with nothing; no stated authority towards his subjects or even proper protection that reports back to him regarding incidents. Or situational awareness of what is going on in his home, like she was almost thrown into a well and nothing happened to the assailant
