Idk if it's worth it but it revolves around the line "even something bad has goodness in it". The end doesn't change the character of the king, it gives a halfway reasonable argument for the parents actions. From what I understood the end is more of acceptance that everything happened and putting the past to rest
That forces mcs to meet their abusive parents once again even after they have expressed against seeing them. Sometimes the best closure is not having anything to do with them-completely cutting off ties.
