i know the whole point is that they’re in the real world now but i felt so disappointed with the ending. we worked so hard and went through so much for 100 chapters and we don’t even get to see the characters actually have their happy ending. it just fades to white. i would’ve loved side stories but because the whole point is that they’re real now, i know we’re not gonna get any. the ending just feels a little anticlimactic and incomplete which is disheartening because the concept was very unique and interesting.
while this was very good, i somehow still can’t get on the chaerinxdeha (or whatever his name was) train. like i get it, they’re both og mc & ml but i feel like we didn’t get enough development and screentime from them two for me to feel connected when deha finally realized huisu wasn’t chaerin. also i would’ve loved to see more scenes of chaerin and her dilemma as a character who gained consciousness. i felt like we just kept getting the “tell me you love me without the script then!” line and nothing else deeper. granted, it is an important plot point but we only saw chaerin’s story twice within the manhwa and both times, she uses the same line. i just wish there was more depth when it came to her feeling tired and anxious about her world.
also, we never really got to see much of deha and his conflicts. like the whole “who are you?” would’ve hit harder if we knew who he was more and if we saw his interactions with chaerin. it just didn’t really make sense to me because this entire time he’s been “chaerin is chaerin” and we never got any scenes of him truly questioning his existence so when he snapped it felt very sudden and awkward. it wasn’t the gotcha moment i would have liked. it fell rather flat. it was just like “oh ig he realized chaerin is gone” ??? which doesn’t make sense because he’s the only character who was adamant that husui was chaerin. so to see him be the only one to remember the real chaerin felt a little out of place. and i know it could’ve been done because all the other characters went thru a conflict when they were remembering husui. so it just felt very sudden for deha to do the same when we never got to see him outside of the music room scene.
it just feels like there’s a lot of missing scenes. otherwise, it was a good story. sigh…
