I think everyone has miss placed anger with the prince. Yes, his behavior is typical for a child. However it isn’t exactly uncommon where young girls are forced to deal with behaviors of these boys since adults often find it ‘cute’ or ‘think it’s harmless’. While these aren’t harmful behaviors, it doesn’t respect her wants or wishes. So it isn’t the prince they should place their anger on since he can’t really tell she doesn’t want to hang out until she is basically telling him, the adults know she didn’t want to go to the kids event and was showing more signs of dislike as time went on.
Of course she is self isolating so the push was probably needed but I think people are just generally frustrated since I too have often seen stories where everyone ignores the females leads wants. Usually she ends up growing to like or accept the situation so it just feels like she’s being forced into dealing with the behavior.
Oh that makes so much sense! And I feel so bad for the girlies who have to deal with that. In the case of Arrel, it seems more of a trauma response than what she actually wants. We can see her inner thoughts are "I don't want to be close with someone only to be hurt/betrayed/abandoned again" or something along those lines. She wants to be close with the prince, but scared of the risk that comes with that connection. So I feel like if they just let her self-isolate, it wouldn't heal her trauma. But idk then again this a romantasy story let's all enjoy the ride !
For sure, I do think there needs to be intervention for her case. Let’s all enjoy the story and see where it heads!
the concept of the readers expecting children to have the emotional maturity of a 30 years old..... the hate the ML gets for being pushy and not knowing boundaries am i crazy i don't see nothing wrong with him? sure he can be annoying but he's also really kind and acts like a puppy which is typically how children act idkkkk
