But is it crazy tho? Though he is the villain of this already planned out story the reason people sympathize with him is not because he was made into a villain and became a villain its because upon his return he was already accused of doing something he never did, he lost all his friends, went broke, people bullied him but he still didn't turn into a villain but then the only person who actually cared for him died causing him to be pushed past his breaking point. Even when he was a villain and killing people he still had empathy he still sympathized, the only reason he became rhe demon king is because he quite literally had noone left in the infinite universe. That is why people sympathize with the hero of sword more than spear because the Spears reason for doing what hes doing is purely for revenge and the reason of the hero killing someone precious to him but using that logic then the hero of sword is also valid in what he's doing.
Innocent people will pay the consequences regardless of you being a hero or villain; where there is war there is casualties and innocent people have one of the highest possibilities of being one. Also that stuff about the time hero finding a way or whatever, you dont think he already done that? He tried every solution before thinking back to the world he migrated from and realized there was no demon king to defeat him nb strong enough to kill him. A demon king of return doesn't sound terrifying at all because the answer to killing him is that simple; if a hero needs a demon king to die then obviously it's vice versa . The reason the hero of sword is so scary is because no matter what he does, he is still a hero, he still has the heart of a hero, he still has the mentality of one. Even with all the actions and heinous crimes he committed hes not doing it out of pure evil he actually thinks hes saving something or someone even if thats noone or himself. As long as the mentality of a hero still exist and the reason that can be formed into "oh yeah thats what a hero would do" he still will be all powerful. And having a weapon that can evolve and adapt is way scarier than a returnee who even he killed
Welll tbf why can't we have a story where the villain wins? Kim minsu literally was forced to play the role of a demon king.
Return hero could have sacrificed himself for the happiness of everyone but choose to prioritize his own happiness.
Who tf cares that the world is not progressing cause it resets whenever he dies, nobody would have known or realised anyways.
He is selfish basically and wanted to end his suffering at the heavy price of everyone else's lives.

Crazy to me how many of you are sympathising with The sword Hero. I get he wasn’t meant to be the villain and was forced into that role by the Time Hero but in reality he IS THE VILLAIN of this timeline and his sad backstory doesn’t change that fact. Even he himself knows that’s not how he should be. It doesn’t change the fact that innocent people are paying the consequences.
I don’t care much about the hero of spear but he is not just the hero of Spear, he is someone who carries the other heros on his back. What makes him special isn’t himself but the fate that has fallen unto him and that is the legacy of previous heroes.
The time hero is a hero I like but also dislike. I understand that as long as no demon king killed him, the rest if humanity will have no future, even if no one was killed in those timelines, they all still ‘die’ once the Time hero dies. So I understand his reasoning behind his actions.
But I can’t help resenting him, if he was stronger, if he had a stronger will, he could’ve found a way to minimise the casualties of common people and the heros. even if not all could be saved in order to harvest karma. But then that will take a godly mental fortitude to achieve which he didn’t have especially as the sweet temptation of death was close to him. Even if he tried but ended up going crazy from all regressions, it’s highly likely he would’ve become the demon king instead.
Idk about you but a Demon King of return sounds even more frightening than the hero.
Would love people’s opinions on this.
