Legit dude it’s terrible what he has done MC and doesn’t excuse his behavior but u still can’t help feel bad for him
Unfortunately, it’s because people only want to sympathize with a “perfect” victim which is — until the second season — literally Kim Dan.
He is like that but even he has flaws like his alcoholism. Yes, he is using it to kill the pain but it also is bringing misery to him and his grandmother. Nobody is perfect.
Some people are unable to redeem themselves for sure but Jaekyung has some humanity left in him so he has the potential to get better
yeah, especially when you realize that he is actively self sabotaging himself, because of his destructive thoughts. it must suck being jaekyung, dedpite all his achievements, he really hs no one at all and is also really struggling with addiction, i guess also slowly becoming like his father in a way, which must be really fucking him up
I find it odd that people have such a hard time sympathizing with a broken person's suffering.
Just because you feel bad about someone's situation it doesn't mean you agree with their behavior.
It remind me of a case of a man that killed his wife because she was physically abusing him for years.
It doesn't justify the murder but it makes me sympathize with him. He is a victim and a perpetrator.
Jaekyung is an abusive partner for sure but he also has a broken mind and a heart. Most people growing up in the same environment end up being crimminals (as is shown with his box mates)
He has a lot growing up to do but that is why I am here
