he’s not even real
The argument isn't about if he's real or not. The argument is him having a past doesn't change anything but it gives perspective that it seems many readers just don't get it.
To those readers, maybe they shouldn't read BL and read something more better for their comprehension. Comprehension is a luxury nowadays it seems.
Author giving character sob story and people pitying said ass character doesn't mean everyone has forgiven his current actions. Ugh. People tend to forget that empathy is a thing and finding reason to behavior is a thing too. Even If his "sob" story is way shittier than this IT DOESN'T MEAN HE IS FORGIVEN FOR HIS PAST MISCONDUCTS.
Yes. You can feel bad for his backstory. And. Yes. You also still need him to be held accountable for his actions. And. Yes. His backstory gives perspective but not excuse.
He is still currently awful especially towards others and he is going through phases of changing. That's what a story for.
His backstory is a reason not an excuse.
