My guess is that the monster is the 'chairman' they were talking about. I guess his initial goal when adopting Jeongin is to tie the loose ends, idk if it was by 'his' order or Beomyeong moved on his own, but it seems he never intended to hurt Jeongin from the start. This story is so interesting, it's such a shame that it's dropped (is it true?)
