It’s getting tired

I think this is like the third time where Ian flipped flopped between tj and Jo. Like Ian doesn’t owe them loyalty but it’s more of just bad writing imo. They aren’t communicating anything between tj and Ian, I’m pretty sure they just fuck every time they see each other. And after seeing it for the 3rd time it’s annoying, at least Ian and Jo can talk their feelings out for a second. And that’s also why it’s obvious that Ian will end up with Jo, so we’re just wasting time.

I don't think it bad writing at all. We see from the past that this sort of thing has always been a way to express their love for each other cu non of them ever said it out loud to one another. The both of them never label anything on their relationship instead they keep hooking up with other person and each time they come back to each other. It becomes a habit and that habit not gonna just disappear over night especially when they have been doing it as long as TJ and YW.But It's definitely tiring to see no communication between the two. But it also in character

You're right but it's not bad writing you can tell the author purposely wrote the repetitiveness of their cycled relationship and I kind of see it as a visual way to make even readers tired of it too.

The reason I think it’s bad writing is because it’s been done too much to where if feels like it’s just to draw the story out because we’re at a stand still, the plot keeps needing to pause so we can watch these two run back to each other for what feels like the 100th time. If they removed a couple scenes early on with this exact thing happening it wouldn’t feel as frustrating now, since it actually makes sense to the plot since Ian can’t stay away from the toxicity. Like imagine the story in novel format, and you just read it from start to finish, not weekly. It’d be the same tired scene on replay with little being progressed through in between.

That's exactly the point. To show nothing has changed and it's still the same cycle. The only thing that gives change is Ian time with Jo. It's not bad writing when that's the point the author is showing.

I know that’s the point. I just stated the issue is that’s it’s overdone, they had the same reputation way too early on, and now that we’re at a point where it makes the most sense for the story/plot, it’s frustrating for the viewer.
