This applies not only to Japanese media but to any storytelling IMO. Characters don't have to confirm every little thing by words and/or actions. If Satomi was a girl, nobody would even question the romantic implications ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Everyone saying this isn’t BL…. It’s not explicit ofc. But in terms of Japanese story telling, manga, Japanese media literacy in general… And the social and cultural nuances throughout the entire thing. And just the overall artwork and vibe… this story is filled with romance lol. Idk how people read this and think “nah! Nothing at all!” Like…. (≧∀≦) it’s subtle, pure, yet scandalous all at the same time. This is romantic Japanese story telling. Characters don’t necessarily have to KISS or make out to have romantic connotations in Japanese media.
