I think some people from the bottom, who’ve made it to the top, lack empathy because they think their situation has been far worse than those at the bottom currently. They have a lot of pride in their strength, but lack awareness nor empathy for those who don’t have it. they have the mindset of “But I could do it with my eyes closed, why can’t they do it with theirs open?”
Given his past youd expect him to have more empathy for the bottom, but i guess thats too much to ask for huh
