Authos has to write a better redemption arc for JK unlike what happened in BJ Alex.
He's more than an asshole and a little toxic or are you forgetting about his rape and physically abusive habits? Redemption would mean he truly needs to recognize his own actions and so far he hasn't.
Okay, the way I phrased it downplays his actions, I admit that. But for the second part, this is the BEGINNING of his redemption arc. Not redeemed yet, hence the “arc.” I find it funny how pissed off some people are already. Can’t begin to imagine how they’ll react once he actually starts turning around lmfao.
It's because the author set him up to be too unlikeable. A redemption a little too late. The readers are pissed because they know whatever "redemption" he will have won't be worth it.
At this point then, the entire issue with Jaekyung lies within each readers’ personal beliefs surrounding forgiveness and if someone, regardless of whatever heinous act they’ve committed, is capable of redemption (assuming said person is truly sorry for their past actions). Look at that, yaoi subtly revealing the inner values of everyone LOL.
Yes, we get it. Jaekyung’s an asshole in present day and he’s kinda toxic, but that’s the whole point. We’re finally at his redemption arc where Mingwa is giving context to his character, but it’s starting to sound like some of y’all don’t want him to be redeemed LMAO.
